Teaser
A parlay where you move each spread or total in your favour in exchange for a shorter payout.
A standard six-point NFL teaser lets you move two or more spreads six points each in your direction, all of which must still win. Moving −8.5 to −2.5 is a large improvement, paid for with much worse odds.
Most teasers are bad bets. The exception, the 'Wong teaser', is specific: two-team six-point teasers that cross both key numbers of 3 and 7 — taking favourites from −7.5 to −1.5, or underdogs from +1.5 to +7.5. Those historically clear the required hit rate, though the edge has narrowed as books adjusted.
