Core betting
Limit
The maximum a sportsbook will accept on a market — or on you specifically.
Limits signal confidence. A book taking $50,000 on an NFL side and $500 on an obscure prop is telling you which number it trusts, and by extension which market is likely to be soft.
Limits are also applied per account. Bettors who consistently beat the closing line get restricted, sometimes to a few dollars a bet. This is the practical ceiling on winning at most retail sportsbooks, and it is why sharp bettors value books that raise limits rather than cut them.
